Privacy Policy for RingLight
Last updated: September 30, 2026
RingLight (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and your choices.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the RingLight mobile app (iOS and Android).
2. Data We Process
RingLight is designed to work on-device.
2.1 Photos you take
- Photos are captured by the camera and kept inside the app’s private storage on your device (the in-app selection tray).
- Photos are only written to your system photo library when you explicitly choose to save them.
- We do not upload your photos. There is no RingLight server that stores your photos.
2.2 Permissions the app requests
- Camera: used only for the in-app viewfinder and capture. The screen fill light is produced by the display itself, not by the camera.
- Photo library add access: used only when you tap save, to write the photos you selected into your photo library.
2.3 Settings stored on your device
- Your preferences (light color, presets, timer settings, mirror, brightness-restore, and similar options) are stored locally on your device.
3. What We Do Not Collect
- No account registration (no email/password required)
- No advertising identifiers; the app contains no ads
- No location, contacts, or microphone access
- No cloud sync; your photos never leave your device unless you share them yourself
4. Purchases and Subscriptions
RingLight Pro is provided through Apple In-App Purchases and Google Play Billing, with entitlement managed by RevenueCat. When you view a paywall, purchase, restore, or manage a purchase, Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat may process purchase records, transaction information, subscription status, and a pseudonymous app user ID to provide entitlement and restore functionality. RevenueCat does not receive your photos.
Payments are processed entirely by Apple and Google; we do not receive or store your payment card details. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy, Apple’s privacy information, and Google Play’s privacy information for the providers’ handling of this information.
5. Crash Reports and Usage Analytics
The app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and error reports. Crash reports may include device model, operating-system and app versions, and stack traces, and are used to diagnose and fix crashes.
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to record limited usage events, such as app opens and feature-usage counters, together with an app-instance identifier. These events are used to understand which features are used and to improve the app. Google processes this information as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
We do not use analytics for behavioral profiling or targeted advertising, and your photos and photo contents are never included in analytics events.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Your photos and settings stay on your device. No RingLight-operated backend receives your content.
7. Children
RingLight does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app contains no ads, no chat, and no user-generated content sharing.
8. Your Choices
- Uninstalling the app removes the app’s local storage, including the in-app photo tray and saved settings.
- You can delete saved photos anytime through the system Photos app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
